About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Area Quality Manager to join our Regional team, working in the North West of England and Wales .
Please Note: Travel across the region will be necessary, including occasional visits further afield for Quality forums and factory inspections.
Role Purpose
* Support both preconstruction and construction teams to drive continual improvement and promote a positive "Right First Time" message.
* Be a key player in supporting all projects, proactively sharing knowledge and lessons from previous and ongoing schemes.
* Foster a healthy quality culture and improve performance by reducing errors.
* Shape and enhance how the wider business manages quality as part of the England and Wales quality team
What you'll be doing
As an Area Quality Manager, you will:
* Support Preconstruction Projects : Plan for quality and deliver "Right First Time", sharing lessons learnt, best practice and feedback with relevant teams.
* Conduct Site Visits : Undertake regular inspections to identify areas for improvement, supporting teams and supply chains with necessary assistance.
* Promote Continuous Improvement : Drive best practices and share lessons to achieve better outcomes, occasionally delivering training to project teams and the supply chain.
* Ensure Smooth Handovers : Work with project teams to enable defect-free handovers, ensuring client satisfaction and positive project legacies.
* Produce Regular Reports : Generate reports for the Area Leadership Team and Delivery Unit, highlighting best practices, areas for improvement, and quality performance.
* Implement Quality Systems : Support the region in implementing quality systems and processes, participate in initiatives and focus groups, and contribute to the business's quality strategy and action plan.
Who we're looking for
Essential Personal Qualities and Experience :
* Project Experience : Experience in delivering civils projects, either in design or construction.
* Strong Communication Skills : Ability to make and maintain healthy working relationships.
* Leadership Confidence : Comfortable working with Senior Management and challenging existing ways of working to support business improvement.
* Team Collaboration : Capable of working within a multi-discipline team.
* Self-Motivated : Able to manage own calendar efficiently.
