Senior Site Manager
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Project: £70m Commercial Build
Salary: £60-£70k + Package
Are you an experienced Senior Site Manager looking to take the lead on a landmark commercial development? We are recruiting on behalf of a respected Tier 1 main contractor delivering a £70m project with long-term pipeline and excellent career progression.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of a major commercial build. You will lead site operations, manage sub‑contractors, maintain high standards of health & safety, and ensure the project meets quality and programme targets. This is a high‑visibility role within a high‑performing team, ideal for someone who enjoys leading large‑scale, complex schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all on‑site construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance
* Lead and manage sub‑contractor teams and site supervisors
* Work closely with the Project Manager to deliver project milestones
* Ensure all HSEQ policies and procedures are followed
* Coordinate site logistics and resolve operational challenges promptly
* Maintain excellent communication with clients, consultants, and the wider project team
About You
* Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager for a Tier 1 main contractor is essential
* Strong background in large‑scale commercial or complex build projects
* Experience on school or education sector builds is highly advantageous
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
* A strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery excellence
