Katie Pritchard, a trainee quantity surveyor, exemplifies how Elan Homes encourages young talent.
“I had an A-level in business and a BTEC Level 3 in engineering but was undecided about my career path. I was temping at various companies, including Elan, when an office junior role became available,” Katie recalls.
“Within two years, I was promoted to admin assistant within the fast-paced sales department. During my annual performance reviews, my line manager and I discussed my career progression. In 2016, I was ready for the next step when a vacancy arose in the commercial department. I discussed it with my line manager and the commercial manager, and I decided it was the right role for me. I recommend working for Elan because you’re well looked after by the management team and colleagues — we’re like a big family, supporting each other.”
Wayne Aron
Site Manager
Wayne Aron has over 20 years of experience in the industry. “I’ve worked in construction most of my life,” Wayne explains. “I started as a bricklayer over 20 years ago and progressed through roles with a large PLC, including section foreman, general foreman, and site manager. I’ve been a site manager for seven years and joined Elan in 2013. The advantage of working here is the close-knit team environment. I prefer working for Elan as a niche developer compared to larger construction companies. I take pride in my work and enjoy managing projects for Elan.”
During my time with the company, I’ve won two NHBC Pride in the Job ‘Quality’ Awards. With ongoing training and team support, I hope to progress to contracts manager in the future.”
