Description United Utilities have awarded Costain a new Managed Service Provider (MSP) framework contract. Under the contract Costain provide the overall management and delivery of United Utilities’ larger-scale water and wastewater asset maintenance activities across the entirety of its network, including 96 water treatment and 575 wastewater treatment sites, which serves over six million people in the North West of England. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to drive high standards of delivery and continual improvement across all aspects of our framework. This is a diverse role with key involvement across various reactive and planned maintenance workstreams. The role will cover quality and continual development across our management systems, performance reporting, KPIs, processes and business assurance to meet internal and external stakeholder needs. Your unique skills and experiences could be exactly what we need. LI-KP1 Responsibilities Leading and driving the quality focus and culture on the UU MSP Framework across all operational teams. Ensuring the processes and management systems in place meet the minimum requirements as set out in the Costain Way to control risk and ensure efficient delivery (e.g. Gates and Must Do statements). If you discover this is not the case, you are responsible for making the MSP Senior Leadership Team aware of the risks and for proposing improved systems and methods to help remediate the situation. Measuring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators and service levels, using and developing dashboards within our Power BI platform (in collaboration with the Data Team). Drive Quality engagement through SHEQ forums and engagement with project teams, embedding quality considerations into SHE inspections, briefings and walk downs. Ensuring quality issues are captured and actions tracked to closure. Implementing and continually improving processes for measuring and reporting management system performance and effectiveness. Ensuring customer satisfaction guidelines are followed consistently across the framework. Lead and coordinate the preparation, maintenance and continuous improvement of management system documentation including the Framework Management Plan, contract-related business processes, procedures and work instructions. Implementing and continuously improving processes for measuring and reporting quality performance, management system effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction. Ensuring services are delivered in line with internal Costain governance and client requirements, and show demonstratable improvements (e.g. Controls Audit, Operational Excellence). Working closely with project teams to support compliant project delivery, providing quality support and advice across requirements and deliverables to ensure projects meet the required standards. Facilitating the roll out, governance and capturing of monthly reporting of the project snag capture process, ensuring action closure and analysis of trends. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Word & PowerPoint, Visio and Power BI tools Strong process mapping and writing skills Excellent and articulate communicator (verbally and written) Ability to work as a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels of an organisation Lead and promote a positive systems environment to enable a culture of Do It Right, first time, every time using awareness, education, encouragement and communication. Have appropriate experience of quality management systems including good knowledge and practical experience of developing, implementing, and improving processes. Experience of working within an engineering environment and understanding of the project lifecycle Qualifications Essential 3 – 5 years in a similar role Desirable Degree educated Relevant training such as CQI, Lean Six Sigma, ISO Be a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and hold CQP status (or an equivalent recognised Quality body).
