The role
Benenden School is seeking an experienced administrator to join our HR team as a People Services (HR) Officer.
This is a key role within our HR function, providing high quality, operational and people-centred services. The Department currently comprises; the Head of People, People Services (HR) Manager, People Services (HR) Officer and HRIS & People Systems Lead. Our aim is to recruit a further People Services Officer to build additional capacity within the team. Both roles will work collaboratively with teaching, boarding (pupil-facing) and operational staff on all recruitment tasks, low level employee relation matters and occasional project work.

There will also be a focus on compliance relating to checks for new contractors working within the School, including carrying out DBS applications and Right to Work checks, interviewing potential new contractors and taking responsibility for recording accurate information on the Contractor Single Central Register.

About you
You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT systems and software programmes. You should have the ability to use your own initiative and take ownership of tasks, seeing them through to completion to a high standard, with minimal guidance and supervision. Experience of working in an office environment and familiarity with recruitment processes are essential, while previous experience in a school-based HR role would be highly desirable.
