Role Description
We are currently looking for Senior and Mid level LAMP Developers at iovox. Depending on experience, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions that meet our business objectives.
Your expertise in web development will be crucial in expanding delivery of our technical products. This is primarily a back‑end development role with some front‑end work involved.

Location
Bristol, UK (Hybrid with 2‑3 days in the office)
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement database schemas, queries, and performance tuning with MariaDB/MySQL.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
* Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
* Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as a PHP Developer, with at least 4 years relevant experience. You will have a love of the software craft and a passion for writing elegant code. You will understand the significance and importance of SOLID principles.
* Solid experience of working in a TDD environment or where automated testing is an integral part of the development process.
* Strong knowledge of MVC frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Slim or Zend. Moreover, you will have a strong understanding about how these frameworks work “under the hood”.
* Extensive experience with MariaDB/MySQL, including complex queries, indexing, and performance tuning.
* Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
* A working knowledge of Linux OS (particularly CentOS and Rocky). Our developers are comfortable at the command‑line.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with other database technologies such as Elasticsearch and ClickHouse.
* Familiarity with queuing technologies such as RabbitMQ.
* 25 days annual leave + week off between Christmas and New Year.
