We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Sterile Services Department as a HSDU Deputy & Quality Manager. This is a key role responsible for developing and maintaining robust quality assurance and production control systems to ensure the safe and efficient manufacture of sterile surgical instrument sets and sterile procedure packs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance and production control systems within the department.
2. Liaise with service users to ensure service agreements and quality targets are consistently met.
3. Support the department manager in the day-to-day management of systems and staff.
4. Oversee internal operations in the manager’s absence, ensuring continuity of service and adherence to established routines.
5. Ensure all quality checks are completed on schedule, results are accurately recorded, and corrective actions are taken in line with departmental quality systems.
6. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by engaging with customers, listening to feedback, and responding proactively to service needs.
To undertake quality-related training to the required standards that meet competency-based assessment levels. To maintain ISO 13485 accreditation and develop the system to continually improve standards and remain compliant with the latest versions.
* Ensure Management Commitment to the process.
* Ensure Audit Reports are collected and submitted, and manage corrective actions.
* Liaise with the Notified Body regarding annual external audits.
* Prepare information for Management Meetings.
* Issue updated copies of Quality Procedures and ensure old ones are withdrawn and archived accordingly.
* Ensure procedures are updated as required.
* Maintain the Organisational Chart.
To ensure all sets with issues (repairs) are recorded and actions are taken to resolve the issues. To hold regular production meetings with supervisors, preparing written reports and analysis. To provide quality assurance and production control services to the departments. Carry out departmental audits regularly. Randomly sample packs to ensure process effectiveness. Actively participate in the production of sterile supplies when necessary. Maintain quality records according to retention periods. Develop and implement staff training on quality standards. Take immediate action when discrepancies are reported to rectify the situation. Assist in managing the department's IT Traceability system.
