The Client - Our public sector client provides free, independent support and advice for individuals and businesses in Northern Ireland in addition to being empowered to investigate complaints over a range of sectors. The Role - This credible position reports into the line manager within Food Policy and Emerging Markets Team. Duties will include but will not be limited to: To work as part of the Strategy & Emerging Markets Directorate to achieve business objectives set out in the organisations Corporate Plan and Forward Work Programme. To plan and support the commission and management of research projects with external suppliers in line with the Northern Ireland public sector procurement policies. To undertake analysis and interpretation of data, and to present this data in a clear and accessible manner for consumers, policy makers, internal stakeholders. To undertake regular stakeholder engagement and horizon scanning to monitor and inform our understanding of current and emerging food affordability and accessibility issues. To create presentations, briefings and speaking notes for senior staff ahead of external speaking events, media interviews and internal meetings. To ensure all data analysis is rigorously undertaken and of a publishable standard i.e. can be reliably used in external publications such as reports, bulletins and infographics. To undertake policy impact analysis of emerging markets and resulting impacts for consumers. Other tasks to support the Strategy & Emerging Markets Directorate and the wider organisation, as required. The Person As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience: Essential: Experience of research projects including analysis and interpretation of data. Proficient use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Policy experience would be advantageous.
