Performance Objectives
Quality Management System (QMS): Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing
improvement of the QMS in line with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant certifications applicable to the industry.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and product enhancement, leading initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance quality outcomes.
Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor quality control processes across design, production, and supply chain activities to ensure consistent delivery of high-standard products.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small quality team, fostering a proactive attitude towards quality and continuous improvement among all staff.
Audits & Compliance: Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate external audits, and ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry best practices.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and defects, using data-driven techniques to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs to embed a quality-focused mindset and continuous improvement principles across the workforce.
Supplier Quality: Collaborate with procurement to assess and improve supplier performance, ensuring incoming materials meet required standards.
Performance Metrics: Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and continuous improvement, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, production, and sales teams to integrate quality and improvement initiatives into all stages of the product lifecycle.Person Specification
Essential:
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Quality Manager or similar role within a design and manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, with ISO 9001 certification experience.
Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Leadership experience with the ability to influence and engage a team of 60+ staff.
Familiarity with UK manufacturing regulations and standards.Desirable:
Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.Apply
