Role Overview
An organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its data and technology landscape is seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a large-scale, multi-year modernisation programme.
The role sits within a central Group Architecture function and focuses on reshaping enterprise data architecture as core platforms and services are brought back under internal control. You will work across complex legacy estates and modern cloud technologies, ensuring data remains secure, compliant, and fit for purpose throughout the transition.
Youll collaborate closely with data engineering, analytics, governance, risk teams, and senior business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Define and own enterprise data architecture aligned to long-term strategy
2. Rationalise and modernise complex legacy and third-party data estates
3. Design end-to-end Azure data architecture supporting:
4. Live operational systems
5. Customer servicing
6. Regulatory and statutory reporting
7. Analytics and MI
8. Develop and govern conceptual, logical, and physical data models
9. Establish architecture standards and guardrails to prevent fragmentation
10. Provide technical leadership across Python, SQL, and Azure data services
