Role Description
We are looking for an experienced CIPD qualified Human Resources professional who can provide expert people advice to staff and managers ensuring policy and practice reflects our values.
This is a new role and will be the first HR role at Home-Start HOST. The role will enhance organisational effectiveness, and help us to prepare for further strategic developments and growth, by taking responsibility for the functioning of HR processes and policies across the organisation, including staff recruitment, development, training, welfare, and equality, diversity & inclusion.
Qualifications & Person Requirements
* CIPD level 5 or above
* Excellent understanding and application of UK employment law and best practice
* Experience of providing HR support for a remote and flexible working organisation
* Competent at using Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel) and using CRM and database systems in your work
* Experience of managing a wide range of employee relations (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, performance improvement, dismissal, absence management), policy development and health & safety compliance
* Experience of managing staff recruitment, selection, onboarding and offboarding
* Knowledge of safer recruitment practice and of safeguarding relating to children and vulnerable adults
* Analytical skills to draw out useful information to inform reports and actions
* Ability to confidently and cogently influence and support managers at all levels
* Experience of contributing to the creation of a values‑led, inclusive and high‑performing organisational culture
* Experience of developing and delivering training for adults
* Good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion legislation and best practice
* Team player who is committed to collaboration
