Who You Are You have a basic food hygiene training NVQ Level 1 or equivalent and a detailed knowledge of good hygiene practices. You have experience of food preparation and service, and can effectively communicate with residents, families, and colleagues. You have the ability to maintain records as required both verbally and written. Ideally, you have experience of working in a Care Home kitchen environment and with older people. Knowledge of Environmental Health and Health and Safety legislation is beneficial, as is the ability to work with minimum supervision. Being passionate and enthusiastic about creating nutritious and tasty meals is a plus. You are able and willing to work flexible hours when needed and available to cover annual leave and sickness within the home. What the Job Involves Your primary role will be to plan and provide nutritious meals for all residents on a daily basis, ensuring the food purchased is fresh and within budget. You will ensure all health, safety, and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained. Your tasks will include preparing, cooking, and presenting well-balanced meals and beverages as well as working closely with residents to plan menus that reflect choice and preferences. You will also supervise and train kitchen staff. You will maintain accurate records including stock control, food orders, and productivity levels, among others. You will monitor food costs and productivity, purchase supplies, promote and maintain good relationships with all residents, staff, and family members, and undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned. You will be required to work from 0730 - 1630 on a shift on the 19th of May. The rate of pay is £12.18 for weekdays and £13.30 for weekends.
