We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Project / Groundworks Site Manager to oversee a roads and sewers package on a residential housing development in Bedlington.
Role & Responsibilities:
*
Day-to-day management of groundworks operations, specifically roads, sewers, and associated infrastructure
*
Managing subcontractors, plant, and labour on site
*
Ensuring works are delivered on programme, within budget, and to specification
*
Maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and compliance
*
Liaising with the client, engineers, local authorities, and utility providers
*
Coordinating inspections and ensuring works meet adoptable standards
*
Reporting progress and resolving site issues proactively
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager on groundworks / civil engineering residential schemes
*
Strong background in roads & sewers
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or Black), and First Aid certificates (essential)
*
Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme targets
*
Strong communication and organisational skills
*
Freelance availability and right to work in the UK
