Overview
The Quality Manager (QM) is the lead contact for all quality matters within their assigned area of the business. The QM leads a team of quality professionals providing a quality management service while ensuring that all activities throughout the FPM project lifecycle are defined, planned and implemented in their area and aligned to the RR SL Quality Policy, Strategy and Manual (Quality Programme). The QM provides support and guidance in the delivery of both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) and drives continual improvement across all project phases.
Responsibilities
Lead quality activities in the assigned area and ensure alignment with the Quality Policy, Strategy and Manual. Provide guidance and support in QA and QC delivery and drive continual improvement across all project phases. Manage and develop a team of quality professionals delivering a quality management service during the FPM project lifecycle.
Qualifications
* Degree or professional qualification in a STEM subject, Quality Management or relevant discipline, or an equivalent level of qualification and experience
* Professional quality certification desirable (CQI/IRCA Lead Auditor, ISO9001 Lead Auditor)
* Member or Fellowship of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
* Training in quality management systems, assurance processes and regulatory compliance
* Extensive experience in quality management, assurance or control on major infrastructure programmes
* Proven track record in developing, implementing and maintaining quality management systems
* Experience in auditing, reviewing and approving engineering construction and operational deliverables
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and statutory compliance
* Experience managing non-conformance, corrective actions and continuous improvement
* Familiar with quality tools, metrics and reporting systems and assurance frameworks
* Demonstrated knowledge of or affinity with delivering quality through a previous role
* Experience working within an Aerospace/ Defence/ Nuclear/ Power Systems/ Other Advanced Manufacturing Industry; typically in an Operations, Supply Chain or Engineering role
* Ideally, knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D, Human Factors)
* Ideally, operational experience of activities within the relevant approved organisation scope
