Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Sales Engineer to lead the growth of our heat pump solutions across the commercial sector. This role is heavily sales‑oriented, with a strong emphasis on developing new business opportunities, building long‑term client relationships, and delivering tailored technical solutions.
You will combine your technical understanding of heat pump systems with a proactive sales approach to identify opportunities, influence decision‑makers, and close high‑value deals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
* Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the commercial sector
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads
* Actively prospect through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to contract close
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and end clients
* Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to promote heat pump solutions
* Understand client requirements and position tailored solutions effectively
* Maintain long‑term relationships to generate repeat business and referrals
Technical Sales Support
* Provide technical guidance on commercial heat pump systems and applications
* Work closely with internal design and engineering teams to develop proposals
* Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, tenders, and quotations
* Translate technical concepts into clear commercial value for clients
Market Development
* Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and incentives related to renewable heating
* Identify new markets, sectors, and partnership opportunities
* Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events
Key Requirements
Experience
* Proven track record in B2B sales or business development, ideally within HVAC, renewables, or building services or within a technical discipline. Product training will be provided.
* Experience selling heat pumps or similar technical solutions is highly desirable
* Demonstrated success in generating and closing new business
Skills
* Strong commercial mindset with excellent negotiation and closing skills
* Solid technical understanding (or ability to quickly learn) of heat pump systems
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritise effectively
* Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and results‑oriented
Qualifications
* Degree, HND, or equivalent in Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
* Full UK driving licence
