About the role -
As part of this role, the Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to deliver a high-quality dining experience for customers. The responsibilities include:
1. Providing fast and efficient service to minimize wait times for customers.
2. Ensuring food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's established standards and specifications.
3. Maintaining appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations.
4. Minimizing food wastage through careful planning and portion control.
5. Preparing food in advance where possible, following proper preservation or freezing procedures.
6. Customizing food preparation and recipes to accommodate customer preferences and dietary requirements.
7. Identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
8. Adhering to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines.
9. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to meet high standards.
10. Reporting incidents or concerns promptly to the Manager.
11. Following standard cooking procedures, seeking approval from the Head Chef for modifications.
12. Providing guidance and demonstrating cooking techniques to team members, as directed by the Head Chef.
13. Undertaking additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Supervisor to support kitchen operations.
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes Required:
* Level 4 or higher qualification in a similar field, or
* At least 2 years of experience as a Cook.
* Excellent food hygiene practices.
* High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
* Ability to thrive in a small, high-paced, and high-volume environment.
* Punctuality, organization, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Pay & Benefits:
