Quality Manager
Location - Wrexham, North Wales
Term - Permanent, Full Time
Salary -£50,000–£55,000 (depending on experience)
Lead quality assurance and health & safety to deliver products and services that consistently meet internal standards, customer expectations, and legal requirements. Manage a team of three (including the Health & Safety Manager) and report to the Operations Director. Act as the primary authority on quality issues, customer complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
THE ROLE
The role as a Quality Manager will see you..
Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and strategy aligned with business and customer needs.
Oversee site-wide health & safety, guiding the Health & Safety Manager and embedding best practices.
Foster strong customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
Collaborate with suppliers and procurement to uphold quality standards via regular audits.
Manage core processes for customer complaints, returns, and document control.
Create, update, and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance and efficiency.
Investigate non-conformances, discrepancies, and complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and relevant legislation.
Establish and track KPIs to measure and improve quality performance.
Mentor and develop the quality team while promoting consistency across departments.
Support New Product Development (NPD) with emphasis on drawing and specification management.
Promote lean principles and continuous improvement to boost site efficiency and quality. YOU
As a successful applicant for the Quality Manager role you will have - A Proven Quality Management experience in a manufacturing setting (knowledge of building products/industry would be beneficial but not essential).
In-depth knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards.
Track record of driving process improvements and change across departments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and methodical skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency for data analysis and interpretation.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
Superior organisational and influencing abilities.
Familiarity with lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions.
Proactive, determined mindset with a passion for quality excellence.
Leadership experience in mentoring and motivating teams.
