Full Time, Permanent. 42.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Salary up to £45,900 per annum. Plus, company van or car allowance.
Our Planned and Retrofit branch is at the forefront of delivering high-quality improvement works across our portfolio—enhancing homes, increasing energy efficiency, and making a real difference in communities.
Locations: Eastbourne and Lewes.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of planned work/contracts and all associated staff, ensuring contractual KPI targets are achieved and maintained.
* Manage internal and external works including wall cavity insulation, new windows, doors, storage heaters, roofing (including scaffolding) within properties, tower blocks, and working at heights.
* Monitor work programme progression via site visits to ensure works are resourced, delivered to quality standards, on time and within budget.
* Manage employees and sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, Mears SOPs, quality accreditations, CDM, and related best practices.
* Provide quotations, manage costs during work, and ensure final accounts are completed accurately and on budget.
* Carry out onsite inspections, investigations, and reporting; offer solutions and drive continuous improvement.
* Liaise with Design Teams, Client Representatives and Consultants.
* Manage employee performance in line with HR policies and procedures.
* Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities, maintaining professional communication and high Health & Safety standards.
* Follow and support company policies, procedures, initiatives and work instructions; maintain company assets in good condition and report damages.
* Undertake other duties as required, provide cover for other site managers, and participate in meetings and training as required.
Role Criteria
* SMSTS qualification
* Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit
* EWI/CWI experience
* Asbestos Awareness
* First aid at work
* Social housing refurbishment experience
* UK Full Driving Licence
* Working at heights including scaffold inspection experience
* Knowledge of housing improvements measured term contracts and Schedule of Rates
* Managing, monitoring, recording and reporting H&S and compliance
* Experience of managing sub-contractors
* H&S knowledge, including COSHH
* Strong customer focus
* Problem solving and results oriented
* Negotiation and influencing skills
* IT literate with confident oral and written communication
* Thorough knowledge of CDM requirements

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
