The Role
Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and UK retail customers to create innovative new packaging concepts for both existing and new product ranges.
You will:
•Create exciting new concepts which complement food packaging innovation and ensure customer satisfaction
•Translate concepts into robust, tangible commercial solutions that are fit for purpose, disrupt the fixture, and communicate the values of the range identity
•Present packaging concepts at feasibility meetings, ensuring suitability for manufacturing environments and production processes
•Stay fully on top of current and future sustainability agendas and trends and incorporate this knowledge into future concepts and solutions
•Present concept proposals and mock-ups to customers, articulating your ideas and rationale
•Support and review factory trials, refining specifications to ensure packaging is commercially viable, operationally sound, and fit for purpose
•Approve pack copy and artwork from a compliance perspective, ensuring it meets quality, environmental, and food safety standards.
We are seeking an experienced candidate who can step into this role and make an immediate impact. You will ideally have gained food or FMCG industry experience in a hands on and creative packaging role.
We are looking for someone with sound technical knowledge of varying materials i.e. paper, flexible plastics and films. Someone who has been involved in creation to launch projects of new packaging designs, incorporating sustainable initiatives. Skilled in Adobe suite programs including Illustrator, with the ability to produce professional mock-ups. Confidence in communicating to internal and external stakeholders, with a pro-active and solutions-driven mindset.
As well as exemplary organisation skills to drive projects forward, you will also have the ability to communicate effectively across different teams.
