Key Responsibilities Deliver structured approaches to performance-related pay and bonus frameworks Implement recommendations from an ongoing job evaluation and pay benchmarking programme Lead or support internal reviews across secondments, benefits, recognition schemes, and high-value contracts Provide subject matter expertise and act as an internal advisor on reward policy and governance Develop and refine frameworks for collective, management and admin pay awards Contribute to shaping a sustainable total reward offering aligned with business goals Represent the function confidently in senior leadership conversations and across the wider people team What They’re Looking For Proven experience designing and delivering reward frameworks in a complex organisation Deep knowledge of job evaluation (Hay preferred), benchmarking tools (e.g. WTW or Korn Ferry), and performance-based pay Background in a unionised environment where governance, clarity, and challenge are key A confident communicator with presence and credibility at senior levels Calm, composed, and steady under pressure — someone who can manage volume without being overwhelmed Collaborative leadership style with the ability to guide and elevate a quiet but capable team Strong stakeholder management skills and a willingness to constructively challenge where needed This is a strategically important hire with long-term potential.
