This is an exciting opportunity to join the HR Advice and Support service supporting the delivery of professional HR advice and support in conjunction with the HR Business Partner and Strategic HR Business Partner. The post will lead on the HR/Workforce elements of a service improvement plan for Aycliffe Secure Centre to ensure that the different elements of HR are delivered and the postholder will contribute to the design and implementation of a service-based workforce strategy. The workforce strategy is a framework that will underpin the work, approach and ethos of all staff involved in the care of young people based at the Centre.

The post will be working full time, 37 hours supporting Aycliffe Secure Centre, where the post holder will be predominantly based, the post is temporary for 12 months.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

You will provide a quality advice and support service to all levels of management, including senior management within Aycliffe Secure Centre. This would include, but not limited to, advice and guidance on; terms and conditions, employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, reorganisation and restructures, change management and performance management. You will lead on all elements of HR/Workforce within a service wide improvement plan - and will include identifying and implementing training needs analysis/ training profiles for the workforce, supporting the work on culture and wellbeing, delivering training on a wide range of HR policy application, and being a trusted adviser to support the centre improvements. You will be responsible for building imperative relationships with the senior management and extended management teams. Managers at the Centre are required to work different shift patterns on rota, therefore the post also carried the requirements to work outside of the standard working day on occasion and flexibility to ensure a proficient HR service is provided is key.

You will be customer focused with the ability to deliver HR advice and support in a timely, professional, and consistent manner.

WHAT WE DO MATTERS

The team at Aycliffe Secure Centre provide a caring, trauma informed and aspirational environment for young people aged between 10 and 18. Our young people are accommodated under a welfare or criminal justice order and have faced many adversities, including neglect, trauma, relationship breakdown and criminal proceedings. As a result, you will be working with young people with complex needs and behaviours including violence and aggression. Our job is to provide them with a safe and caring home and to support them to develop the relationships and skills that will help them towards a positive and successful future.

The Multidisciplinary team at the Centre work collaboratively together and with external professionals and families to create an experience for young people that results in a successful and safe transition into a community home.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You should be Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD status) or working towards.
