Where you fit in: As our Customer Vulnerability & Safeguarding Manager you will create and implement the strategic plan for supporting and safeguarding our vulnerable customers which includes external partnering, development and deployment of internal policy, procedures and capabilities, to satisfy the requirements of our regulators and customers. As the company specialist in all matters relating to customer vulnerability and safeguarding, you will have particular focus on operational settings, whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and driving delivery against our vulnerability strategy. You will represent the company at both a regional and national level on various forums and will drive the strategic direction of the business in line with best practice, customer insight and regulatory compliance, influencing and promoting changes to behaviours and culture around safeguarding & vulnerability. You will play a key role in collaborating with multiple business areas, to identify and deliver opportunities for improvement in line with the business strategic direction. What skills & qualifications are we looking for? Experience of vulnerable customer strategy, policy and procedure development and implementation Experience in multi-agency and authority working in a large organisation utility or other complex operational organisations an advantage. Customer safeguarding management or significant work experience Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, able to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships. Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels to ensure delivery of projects on time and to budget. Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills Experience of matrix team management and working at a senior leadership level. Ability to train and develop operational and technical teams as well as the ability to coach, develop and influence senior management Ability to work without close supervision and to agreed targets and standards Ability to focus on specific activities whilst understanding the wider impact of service delivery to all customers. Strong team mentality i.e., someone who is willing to support and work with others to achieve the best outcomes. Technical understanding of the water industry, how it operates and is structured would be an advantage. Prepared to undergo (successful) security clearance to SC level and DBS checks Track record of driving high performance through Quality Assurance and Risk Management Proven track record of interpreting / compiling and data analysis.
