We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team at Orchard House High School.
This is a Grade 6, permanent post working 35 hours per week, all year round. The starting salary is £32,115 per annum.
We’re looking for:
A reliable, proactive, and skilled Site Manager responsible for maintenance, safety, and security of our school premises, ensuring the site is safe, clean, and operational at all times.
This role supports the smooth running of the school and creates an environment where children can thrive.
Ideal candidates will have experience in a senior Caretaking/Site supervisor role with excellent health and safety knowledge. Experience in a school environment is preferred. A full driving licence is essential.
Experience managing budgets and planning repairs and maintenance is advantageous.
Main purpose of the job:
Assist the Head Teacher and Trust Head of Estates in ensuring school sites and facilities comply with the Trust’s Estate Strategy and guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing estates staff and external contractors, overseeing work and performance.
2. Managing maintenance, security, and facilities systems including alarm, CCTV, and surveillance systems.
3. Overseeing planned and legislative maintenance, ensuring compliance documentation is current.
4. Conducting technical inspections and tests (fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire doors) and recording results.
5. Building relationships with external contractors and monitoring their performance.
6. Ensuring high standards of cleaning, maintenance, security, and groundskeeping.
7. Negotiating and monitoring contractual agreements and performance standards.
