Job Description
Supporting the Engineering Maintenance Department, we are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate Engineering Stores person to source, purchase, and organise stock within the Engineering Stores. The role also involves assisting with the administration of the Engineering Department to support the company's continued growth and success.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Ownership and daily management of the parts store.
2. Organise the stores to optimise efficiency for the department.
3. Source parts, obtain quotes, and raise purchase requisitions (PRs).
4. Ensure timely delivery of parts, following up via email and phone as needed.
5. Conduct routine stock takes, maintaining minimum stock levels.
6. Record, monitor, and report departmental expenditure.
7. Work with current systems to identify improvements and support the implementation of new systems and processes.
8. Support the business with ongoing H&S compliance and improvements.
9. Assist with Plan Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and organise stock required prior to PPM.
10. Keep inventory, paperwork, and spreadsheets updated.
11. Support the Engineering Manager in organising and distributing shift patterns and work orders.
12. Collect data and record departmental KPIs.
Skills & Abilities:
* Organisational Skills: Managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and organising the store effectively.
* Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in inventory records, material identification, and documentation.
* Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with engineers, vendors, and stakeholders.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing issues related to stock levels, ordering, or supply chain logistics.
* Computer Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, Word, and other software for inventory management and administrative tasks.
* Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of engineering materials, parts, and equipment.
Education & Experience:
* Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths; relevant technical training or courses are preferred.
* Experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
