An established organisation in Barnstaple is seeking a dynamic HR Manager to lead its People function. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the business continues to attract, retain, and develop a talented workforce, enabling the delivery of an exceptional experience to all stakeholders.
The Role:
This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing the People team and operations. The HR Manager will act as the first point of contact for all People-related matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice, while driving forward initiatives that support organisational development, staff wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities for the HR Manager include:
1. Lead the delivery of day-to-day People operations, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with legislation and sector requirements.
2. Manage employee relations casework, including performance, absence, grievance, and disciplinary matters, ensuring best practice approaches.
3. Line manage and develop the HR team, empowering staff and ensuring a high-quality and efficient People service.
4. Oversee recruitment, pay, benefits, and systems, driving improvements in processes, staff experience, and organisational engagement.
