Residential caretaker job description

A Residential Caretaker, also known as a Property Custodian, primarily oversees the day-to-day maintenance and operations of residential properties. These can range from single homes to large apartment complexes. Their key responsibilities include routine property inspections, carrying out basic repairs, maintaining the property’s cleanliness, and ensuring the safety and comfort of the residents. They act as a first point of contact for residents, handling their queries and issues promptly and professionally. Strong problem-solving skills, physical stamina, and a customer-focused approach are essential for this role. They may also liaise with contractors for larger repairs and maintenance tasks. This role often requires a thorough understanding of property management and a flexible schedule as they might be called upon outside of regular hours.
