Work in Sweden

Swedish people have been experiencing a 6-hour workday. It has been proven that by cutting down work hours, employees become more productive. This can be explained by the fact that having shorter work days helps concentrate and contributes to personal development.

In Sweden, the industry sector has experienced this new organization along with other sectors such as the health sector for example.

Linus Feldt, the CEO of Filimundus, a company based in Stockholm specialized in mobile phone applications, states that: “An 8 hour working day is not as efficient as one could consider. Staying concentrated on a specific task during 8 hours is challenging. To face this challenge, employees end up paying less attention and are more likely to renew breaks to get through the day easier.”

In return of this new policy, Swedish employees have fewer breaks, less meetings and avoid using social networks like Facebook for example.
